In July 2023, Anthropologie partnered with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants to launch a first-of-its-kind guest experience that blended fashion, hospitality, and convenience. The collaboration introduced the Anthropologie Accessories Collection, a curated edit of handbags, belts, and sunglasses available for guests to borrow during their stay at select Kimpton properties, with the option to purchase afterward.
The partnership brought Anthropologie’s signature sense of style to Kimpton’s Forgot It? We’ve Got It! program, creating a thoughtful, fashion-forward amenity that elevated the guest experience while reinforcing both brands’ shared commitment to creativity and personalized service.
Objective
Position Anthropologie as an innovative lifestyle brand that extends beyond retail and into hospitality, aligning with Kimpton’s ethos of thoughtful design and guest-centered experiences. The goal was to reach new audiences, deepen brand affinity, and expand Anthropologie’s visibility within the luxury travel and leisure market through a modern, service-driven partnership.
The Challenge
Accessories are often the first items removed or forgotten when packing for travel. The challenge was to transform that common frustration into a moment of delight, integrating Anthropologie’s design sensibility and storytelling seamlessly into Kimpton’s guest journey.
The Plan
Collaborate with Kimpton to curate a rotating, seasonally refreshed collection of Anthropologie shoppable accessories available at participating hotels nationwide. Guests could borrow pieces complimentary from the front desk and return them anytime during their stay, or purchase directly via Anthropologie’s virtual storefront accessible through QR codes and a dedicated landing page.
The program debuted with a Summer Edit featuring statement purses, sunglasses, and belts selected by Anthropologie stylists to complement every travel occasion from rooftop concerts to weekend getaways.
Social Launch
The campaign launched socially through an integrated activation featuring Anthropologie Ambassador Brittany Leigh Ball, who introduced the collection across both Anthropologie and Kimpton channels.
Shared under the hashtag #KimptonxAnthropologie, the content invited audiences to explore the edit through shoppable posts and clear call-to-action links directing to the dedicated landing page for easy access and engagement.
Owned Channels
Developed cohesive storytelling across Anthropologie’s social, web, and email channels, highlighting the partnership’s convenience and design sensibility.
Featured a virtual storefront on Anthropologie.com linking each product to its in-hotel experience.
